Pimp My Game

FOR THE PROFESSIONAL ATHLETe

Talent may get you into the room. What happens next requires more.

Pimp My Game was developed specifically for professional athletes who understand that sustaining success requires more than physical ability. The experience challenges athletes to examine the mindset, emotion, preparation, competition, discipline, setbacks, identity, transition, and legacy connected to performing at the professional level.

The Framework

The original manuscript describes Pimp My Game as a journey through eight areas of the professional-athlete experience.

A Journey Through eight Areas of the Professional-Athlete Experience

01

THE DREAM

Remember Where It Started.

Before the contracts, recognition, statistics, and expectations, there was a dream. The Dream challenges athletes to reconnect with the early desire, preparation, competitiveness, sacrifice, and determination that eventually carried them into professional sports. Garrett's manuscript traces this back to childhood competition, skills development, coaches, mentors, learning the rules, and eventually becoming a true student of the game.

02

FEELING

Remember What Made You Love It.

Emotion has always been connected to competition. Winning. Losing. Being overlooked. Being recognized. Preparing. Sacrificing. Competing. The challenge is learning how to experience those emotions without allowing them to control your performance. The manuscript emphasizes that athletes must continue finding joy and satisfaction in the repetitive preparation required to overcome obstacles and compete successfully.

03

KNOWING

Know Your Game. Know Yourself.

You're a professional athlete. Now what do you know? Know your strengths. Know your limitations. Know your vulnerabilities. Know your motivation. Know what matters. Pimp My Game challenges athletes to continually question their preparation, effort, support systems, opponents, and approach to competition.

04

COMPETITION

When It's Time to Perform.

Game day. Match time. Tipoff. Showtime. Competition is where preparation meets opportunity. The professional athlete must learn how to engage, assess, adjust, and remain mentally formidable even when an opponent gains an advantage. The manuscript specifically challenges athletes not to become consumed by an opponent's success during competition, but instead continually evaluate how they can become better throughout the contest.

05

FOCUS

Stay Locked In.

Everyone may be watching your performance. But what are you focused on? Focus requires mental preparation, awareness, discipline, and an understanding of how you respond to training, coaching, success, failure, pressure, and competition. Garrett's manuscript compares the cameras focused on every move of the professional athlete with the athlete's need to build that same level of internal focus.

06

FAILURE

Learn. Adjust. Respond.

Failure doesn't have to become your identity. It can become information. Every disappointing performance, mistake, setback, or loss creates an opportunity to evaluate what happened and determine what needs to change. Pimp My Game encourages athletes to turn failure into adjustment rather than allowing it to become a destination.

07

INVINCIBLE

Build Championship Character.

Being invincible doesn't mean never losing. It means developing the mindset and character necessary to keep competing. Pimp My Game challenges the athlete to align Thinking + Doing, Wanting + Willing, Demanding + Completing. The goal is not perfection. The goal is becoming the type of competitor who consistently responds with purpose.

08

NEXT

Prepare Before the Game Ends.

Every athletic career has a timeline. Your purpose doesn't. Eventually there will be another chapter. Another identity. Another routine. Another challenge. Pimp My Game encourages professional athletes to begin thinking about the next phase while they still have the opportunity to prepare intentionally for it.
